The Burch School of Music has announced the addition of Steven J. Lent to its faculty.

As a member of The Burch School of Music, Mr. Lent will call on his extensive teaching experience in both group and private piano instruction, and will resume his participation in teaching the school’s pre-school Kindermusik curriculum.

Mr. Lent is currently the music director at First Christian Church in Mineral Wells. His previous church music experience includes music ministry positions with Weatherford’s Central Christian Church and Arlington Heights Christian Church in Fort Worth.

Mr. Lent has performed as a pianist throughout the southwestern United States. As a singer, Mr. Lent has done voice-over work for Silver Burdett and Ginn at their Fort Worth recording studio. He has participated in seasonal work with the vocal jazz performance group The Living Christmas Card, and enjoys arranging piano ensembles for his students.

Mr. Lent earned a Bachelor of Music Education with vocal concentration from TCU and has taught music for three years in the public school system. His pursuit of a career as pianist and singer has been guided by such prestigious pianists as Dr. Jerry Wallace, Rosalie Levant and Paul Pollei, in addition to vocal and conducting instructors Kathleen Terbeek, Randol Bass, Angela Turner-Wilson and Sheila Allen.

“We are excited to be expanding our school with the addition of our long-time friend, Steve Lent, to our teaching staff,” Burch School Director Holly Hughes said. “His enthusiasm and abilities will be a wonderful addition to our existing music programs.”
