The Burch School of Music offers instruction in
pre-school music education (particularly the Kindermusik curriculum) and piano/theory
instruction. Kindermusik classes are offered to newborn children to age seven years,
and piano classes are offered to students aged six through adult, including seniors. Piano
is taught in groups of four students each for the first six semesters in an electronic
piano lab, and after graduating from these classes, students may continue with a
combination of private and group lessons. Because a piano student cannot be successful
without an understanding of music fundamentals, each beginning piano student is required
to study music theory using software-based instruction in the computer laboratory. |
