The Burch School of Music announces The Fall 2011 Composer Club: Bridging the Centuries (1880s-1920) The BSM Composer Club will be exploring the music and art of the Late Romantic Era in four 2.5 hour-long classes, meeting on Fridays from 2:30-5:00 p.m. (Sept. 16, Oct. 21, Nov. 11, and Dec. 9). Composers from the early Romantic Era will include Gustav Mahler, Giacomo Puccini, Hugo Wolf, Richard Strauss among others. We will also explore the art from this period. In the spring we will explore more composers from the period between the two wars. The fees for this class will be $60 for tuition, plus $15 for art supplies for a total cost of $65. Registration deadline is August 15, 2011. (Returning students do not have to pay the $15 art fee.)
